How to Attach Mini Party Hats and Balloons to Animal Figures

We often get asked how to attach mini party hats and mini balloons to party animals or small toys. In this blog post we'll give you a step-by-step tutorial and videos to help you accessorise your toy figures so they're party-ready in no time.

🦒 What You'll Need:

  • Animal figures (we use Schleich and Safari LTD animals on the shop but Kmart or dollar store finds work just as well)
  • If animals aren't part of your theme, small toys like Marvel action figures, Barbie dolls, Bluey figures, or even a rubber ducky - anything small enough to used as a cake topper or placed close to the cake
  • 10 pack Mini Party Hats from Sunny Street
  • 5 pack Mini Balloons from Sunny Street

🥳  Mini Party Hats

  1. Unfold the glue dot strips included in the pack and cut or tear the paper backing in between each dot
  2. Press the dot onto the animal or toy figure firmly with the backing paper still attached
  3. Remove the paper backing, the glue dot should remain on the figure
  4. Select the the mini party hat appropriate for your figure, there are various sizes included in each pack so you're bound to find something that fits whether it's for a T-Rex or a wombat.
  5. Press the mini party hat onto the dot. Reposition or alter the shape of the dot if necessary to better quit the figure you are using.

🎈 Mini Balloons - Singles or Bunch

  1. Best placement for mini balloons - These work best if attached to narrower parts of the animal or toy figure such as the tail, legs, or hands. For smaller animals like a piglet or Jack Russel, twisting around the body will work better as the weight of the balloon will be more balanced preventing the figure to topple over on your cake.
  2. Take the balloon wire and measure two-thirds or three-quarters of the way down from the balloon. Use this point to start winding the wire around the figure.
  3. Adjust the balloon so that it's pointing upwards.
  4. Bunching balloons - for a balloon bouquet look, try bunching 3 or more balloons together. This would work best with larger animals like dinosaurs, a cow or an elephant. You can also insert the balloon bouquet into the cake directly if it becomes too happy for the animal or toy figure to support.
